For us โ and for thousands of New Yorkers โ 4/20 is the moment to embrace cannabis culture in all its glory. From sunrise to sunset, The Travel Agency celebrated all week long with comedy, food, and a recovery moment. Take a look back at the moments of joy, creativity, and community that made 4/20 one for the books.
Every moment leading up to April 20th was infused with the spirit of celebration. Hereโs how we set the stage:
From April 15th to the 21st, travelers at our dispensary scored a $4.20 meal deal with Glazeโs Union Square location. Visitors to The Travel Agency were treated to a complementary holographic sticker, their ticket to a delicious โGlaze & Blazeโ chicken and broccoli bowl sure to satisfy the munchies. More than 120 people stopped by to get their sticker and head to Glaze to redeem around 300 $4.20 Glaze & Blaze bowls.
The Travel Agency served as the designated hub for Rage & Releaseโs Tuesday โRolling Stoned Runs.โ Commencing at 7 p.m. on April 16th, 23rd, and 30th, runners converged for an elevated exercise session supported by Old Pal, Eaton Botanicals, and Fernway. Through a shared passion for fitness and relaxation, consumers and non-consumers alike fostered a sense of camaraderie while enjoying outdoor runs in New York City
Riding high off our co-founder Arana Hankin-Biggersโ recent interview, the NYC talk show โSo Many Issues with Lukasโ unveiled a cannabis-centric episode at Soho House on April 17th. The night featured the premiere of the pre-recorded interview with Arana, as well as live conversations with luminaries like Edie Parker founder Brett Heyman and comedic talents Gabe Gonzรกlez and Sloan Brettholtz.
The Travel Agency hosted โHigh Vibrationsโ on Thursday, April 18th, an enhanced, canna-friendly after-hours event at Sohoโs immersive art haven, INTER_. The event provided a unique opportunity for guests to delve into creativity, disconnect, and surround themselves with โintermersiveโ art. With the support of partners like Fernway, Gron, and Sackville & Co., attendees were offered an experience at the intersection of cannabis culture and artistic expression.
We also joined the uproarious fun at โDonโt Tell Comedyโ night, where fan-favorite NYC comedians took the stage at pop-up shows in both Hellโs Kitchen and DUMBO. Producing weekly shows across the U.S., Donโt Tell Comedy is known for keeping the location a secret until the day of the show and the performers a mystery until they hit the stage. The evening buzzed with excitement as guests gathered to enjoy a night of one-liners, side-spitting anecdotes, and punchlines with precision.
We held three events on 4/20 itself, a beautiful Saturday filled with fun, love, and celebration of all things cannabis. We curated an array of festivities throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn to suit every taste and preference. These three unforgettable moments included
From noon until 8 p.m., The Travel Agencyโs Union Square and Downtown Brooklyn locations hosted the dynamic party collective Angel Baby, turning Union Square into a block party. Dubbed 420 Radio, we featured an innovative mobile setup where DJs could spin and set the tone for a day of celebration and connection. Guests indulged in a sensory feast, enjoying tunes, snack carts, and surprise appearances by celebrity guests like Yvie Oddly and Dede Lovelace. The 420 Radio event was also broadcast live for those who prefer to celebrate the holiday at home.
We brought our vibrant energy to Prospect Park to join FLAMER, New York Cityโs iconic queer-owned cannabis brand with the fire-engine-red prerolls, for their annual 4/20 picnic. From 2 p.m. until sunset, The Travel Agency blankets throughout the parkโs Long Meadow were packed for a day of relaxation and creativity. From sound baths to arts and crafts hosted by Chala June, to meditation sessions led by Weed Auntie, the picnic was all vibes. And of course, there were plenty of delectable snacks to savor and share.
The Travel Agency and party princess Chlomosexual united forces to present 420 in Wonderland at 3 Dollar Bill in Brooklyn. Teaming up with Off Hours and Luci, we orchestrated a night of fun from 4:20 p.m. to 10:20 p.m. The night featured a mystical outdoor smoke lounge, photo activations to capture the magic, and plenty of cannabis to go around.
With 4/20 in the rearview mirror, we took a collective breath and recharged for the days ahead.
The day after 4/20, The Travel Agency and Weed & Wellness hosted a wind-down event at THC NYC. The one-day experience offered fitness classes by studios like Y7, thought-provoking speaker sections exploring the intersection of cannabis and wellness, and much more. Invigorating and healing activations, including Chime & Chillโs sound bath and Rage & Releaseโs cathartic sessions, restored balance.
The day after celebrating our favorite plant, we found ourselves at Fly Private Social for the Reset, Reflect, and Rejuvenate, a collaboration between Chef For Higher and The Travel Agency. Rooted in gratitude and connection with self, community, Mother Earth, and plants, the event offered a space for intentional activities designed to foster introspection and renewal. Participants gathered to reset at Fort Greene Park with a cypher, meditation, and stretch. There was also a Creative Steeping class with Kamau and a painting session from LABORATORY.
As we bid farewell to another remarkable 4/20, we at The Travel Agency find ourselves full of memories teeming over with laughter, love of community, and the vibrant spirit of cannabis culture New York City is famous for. Weโre filled with gratitude for everyone who joined us and eagerly await a bigger and better 4/20 ahead.
