10 Black-Owned Cannabis Brands to Support In New York City

Black man holding a mic.

Often, supporting Black-owned cannabis brands means directly supporting people negatively impacted by the War on Drugs, a mission that guides our every move at The Travel Agency. Explore these Black-owned brands leading New York’s cannabis market with intention.

B NOBLE

Founded by renowned street artist and hip-hop figurehead Fab 5 Freddy, B NOBLE launched in July 2021 as a way to spread awareness about people prosecuted and criminalized for cannabis-related charges. The company is named after Bernard Noble, who spent 13 years incarcerated for two joints’ worth of cannabis. The company puts its money where its mouth is, donating a portion of all its proceeds to numerous nonprofits that support people impacted by harsh sentences for cannabis-related charges.

Through the B NOBLE brand, Fab 5 Freddy has also directed attention to his documentary Grass Is Greener, which we’ve helped bring to New York theaters. The film covers roughly 100 years of anti-Black and anti-Latino policing, especially as it relates to the War on Drugs.

As for cannabis itself, B NOBLE sells pre-rolls, vapes, and whole flower. Explore B NOBLE on The Travel Agency’s menu to see the brand’s high-quality, social justice-supporting products.

Foy

As with B NOBLE, the Black-owned cannabis brand Foy has given communities liftoff in hopes of establishing equity. A percentage of Foy’s sales goes to The Bail Project, a nonprofit that reunites people from disproportionately targeted groups with their families and re-centers the belief that one is innocent until proven guilty. The company has also been involved in COVID-19, social justice, DEI, and right-to-vote programs.

As for its cannabis products, Foy is wholly committed to manufacturing top-quality items. It uses no pesticides, chemicals, or heavy metals in its organic plant growing practices, and it conducts extraction processes at its own kosher-certified facility. Foy products available at The Travel Agency include gummies with tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD), and minor cannabinoids such as cannabinol (CBN) and cannabigerol (CBG).

MyHi

The Black-owned cannabis brand MyHi makes cannabis consumption exceptionally discreet and convenient. Its goal is to provide hangover-free, sugar-free social times through highly customizable cannabis experiences. Its slim, compact, portable Stir STIKs are calorie-free, with several party-friendly flavor options that dovetail beautifully with your favorite mocktail. Each Stir STIK contains infused powder with 10mg total THC — just add it to your favorite beverage, stir, enjoy, and ascend.

MyHi Stir STIKs at The Travel Agency are available in 10-packs or three-packs. Bring a splash of brightness to your drink with the Lively Lemon STIK, or opt for a tart, fruity flavor with Boisterous Berry. If you’re infusing a drink that’s already packed with flavor, MyHi’s Flavorless Stir STIKs preserve that beautiful taste while elevating everything else.

Weekenders

Both Black-owned and woman-owned, Weekenders packs outdoor-grown cannabis into convenient, gorgeously packaged pre-rolls. All the flower in these pre-rolls comes from small, sustainable farms that use rainwater, composting, and cover cropping to grow top-quality cannabis under the sun.

Some Weekenders pre-rolls on The Travel Agency menu are associated with euphoric effects and fruity, sweet flavors. You’ll also find nighttime-friendly pre-rolls that may deliver relaxing, soothing effects that start in your mind and extend to your full body. Choose a single pre-roll for an easy introduction to Weekenders, or purchase a seven-pack to dive right into this high-end brand’s immersive experiences.

SMKN Goddess

The Black-owned, woman-owned brand SMKN Goddess is a go-to for elevating every smoking ritual. The brand’s guiding beliefs are that presence is the foremost luxury and that smoking cannabis is a moment grounded in design and intention. It uses clean, all-natural materials to create its rolling papers, which pair perfectly with top-shelf cannabis flower and a Travel Agency lighter.

SMKN Goddess papers available at The Travel Agency include organic hemp and pure rice options. The hemp papers are known for their slow, satisfying burn that makes it easier to settle deeply into a session. If you’re looking for the thinnest rolling papers around, the rice option has you covered, with a smooth, gentle burn that immerses you in the moment. All SMKN Goddess papers minimize environmental impacts, beautifully aligning with the brand’s emphasis on intention.

Papa & Barkley

Papa & Barkley is a cannabis wellness brand known for prioritizing care and craftsmanship. Based in California and co-founded by Guy Rocourt, the company takes a slow, thoughtful approach to cannabis, focusing on clean, solventless, whole-plant products designed to support everyday well-being rather than chase trends.

At The Travel Agency, Papa & Barkley’s products offer an approachable way to experience the brand’s wellness-forward philosophy. Made with quality ingredients and intention, they’re ideal for anyone looking for a more mindful, body-centered cannabis experience that fits seamlessly into daily life.

Reisfields NYC

With Reisfeld’s NYC, a different kind of smoke is on the table. Lighting up with this Black-owned, queer-owned brand means taking a lighter to a wick — handcrafted candles to help mask cannabis aromas are a highlight of Reisfields NYC’s catalog. Founder and CEO Reis Chester merges his background in fashion styling, architectural development, and interior design with his passions for self-care, nature, luxury, and travel throughout the brand’s offerings.

This vision is evident in Reisfields NYC’s candles, which are all hand-poured in the brand’s New Jersey laboratory. These sustainable candles are made from pure soy wax — no phthalates — blended with essential oils and fragrances in small batches. You might feel a bit revitalized and radiant shortly after lighting the Reisfields NYC candles on The Travel Agency’s menu. At the very least, you’ll add a gorgeous aroma to your surroundings.

TELFAR

Yes, that TELFAR. The world-famous bag brand is both Black- and queer-owned, with namesake designer Telfar Clemens launching the brand in 2005 right here in NYC. TELFAR is, of course, known for its chic unisex utility bags, reusable and fashion-forward plastic bags, and basics including dresses, leggings, and T-shirts. The brand has now also branched into licensed New York dispensaries with the launch of its latest bag.

The MICRO 420 Plastic Bag, part of the TELFAR selection at the Travel Agency, is a tiny seven inches long, eight inches wide, and three-and-a-half inches deep. Its ruched, double-lined elastic handles are as playful as the classic takeout smiley face adorning the bag, which fits all your daily essentials. There’s a zip pocket on the side and, to make it cannabis-friendly, a hidden stash pocket. TELFAR makes on-the-go elevation exceptionally fashionable.

STAY ME7O

STAYME7O is a premium, Black-led cannabis brand launched by NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, blending luxury, intention, and everyday balance. Positioned as “couture cannabis,” the brand focuses on effect-driven flower curated to support an active, grounded lifestyle on and off the court.

Available at The Travel Agency, STAYME7O’s flower lineup offers thoughtfully selected experiences that prioritize focus, balance, and winding down. Beyond its product excellence, STAYME7O is committed to social equity and justice. A portion of proceeds supports NuProject, which empowers entrepreneurs from communities disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs, and the Last Prisoner Project, advancing cannabis criminal justice reform.
